Sunsuper Getting Serious Modeller

Latest news: The Sunsuper modeller was an award winner at the 2009 ASFA conference.

AHC was appointed by Sunsuper in 2008 to help produce a retirement modeller with the aim of increasing member engagement with the Sunsuper brand. The modeller was launched in March 2009.

Brief

To develop a modeller targeted primarily at Gen X and younger Baby Boomers to help them grow their relationship with Sunsuper
To provide members with an experience similar to seeing a financial planner but at no cost to the investor
To enhance the Sunsuper website with a market leading member education tool
To demonstrate Sunsuper's commitment to creating the best possible retirement scenario for their members
To encourage members to be active with their super

Execution

AHC developed an interactive modeller which allowed the member to project their income from super, their spouse's super and the Government Age Pension
A stepped process was developed so members were able to understand and learn about the different elements that contribute to their final income
Short videos introduce members to ideas and strategies to improve their retirement income

Outcomes

The modeller was deployed to the Sunsuper website in early 2009
The modeller helps to lead investors to focus on the income they need rather than focusing on a retirement lump sum
The modeller forms the first part of a larger campaign to target Gen X and Baby Boomers and plays a key role in Sunsuper's OnTrack campaign
Sunsuper now have a significant advantage and USP over similar superannuation providers as the modeller is more interactive and comprehensive than anything currently available on the Australian market
