Equity Trustees Calculator

Brief

To develop a visually appealing, simple to use superannuation calculator.
The calculator had to include sophisticated assumptions in the background and provide the user with the opportunity to see the outcome of various scenarios.
Users would have a wide range of demographic background, financial literacy and education.
The tool had to be intuitive and easy to use.

Execution

The calculator uses a slider based interface that shows changing results in real time.
Users have the option to vary personal data including their desired retirement age and retirement income, current super balance, salary sacrifice and after tax contributions.
The results are displayed instantly and provide a projected savings total, retirement income each year and until what age the super will last.
An animated character shows a mood change according to positive or negative outcomes!

Outcomes

Equity Trustees launched a new financial education and lead generation website in June 2008 – www.super.com.au which features the AHC superannuation calculator prominently on the home page.
The calculator is a good example of AHC’s approach to providing a highly visual and interactive front end solution combined with complex superannuation modelling.
